All About Us:
*Friends for Life was founded on October 2,1997 in Port Of Spain, Trinidad.*Incorporated under the companies Act (1995) as a Non-goverment Organisation in June 1998.
*Appointed Charge-de Affaires of the TNT MSM 2000 in July 2001.
*Initiated as the Trinidad & Tobago Representative to the UN Volunteers (UNV) in September 2001.
MISSION:
*To offer friendship, support and counselling to persons infeced by and/or affected with HIV/AIDS.*The community of Men who Have Sex with other men (MSM) is the Organisation's primary target group, as well as other marginalized communities such as comercial Sex Workers(CSW),etc.
MEMBERSHIP:
The membership includes: *STD/HIV and Sexual Reproductive Health Peer Counsellors*Medical Professionals, individuals labouring in th field, as well as persons who have lost (a) family member(s), friend(s) and lover(s).
EXPERTISE:
Volunteers and Members are frequently exposed to training seminars and workshops, which include:
-Youth Symposium on Sexual & Reproductive Health Rights.
-Small Business Development Company Workshop On Business Propsal Writing.
-National AIDS Programme Seminar on Funding & Proposal Writing.
-Natonal AIDS Programme workshop on STD/HIV Education & Counselling.
-Caribbean Epidemiological Centre (CAREC) workshop on leadership & Facilitation Skills.
-Family planning Assiciation (of T&T)Sexual & Reproductive Health Education & Counselling.
-As well as diverse skill & resource develpoment in various related areas.
